At school this year the 12th graders (along with their homeroom teacher) organized an institutional project in the area of our church in Bañado. Money for the project was raised on Mission Night at school. Their plan was to work with the people in this community involving every subject and teacher in their program this year. In several visits the moms, as well as some of our missionary visitors, went to wash hair, comb out lice, braid hair, and clean and cut nails. The students asked some dentists to go...they pulled teeth! (Oscar told me later that there was a half a bucket of pulled teeth after that visit!)
I went with the group last week . They served breakfast, had 4 different workshops and presented a bible-related puppet show.

How close is this to your school?
Do they take a bus to get there? How many seniors are there?
This looks like an interesting project. Hope it works out well for the students' benefit, as much as they are helping the recipients.
this place is about 1/2 hour from school. It's in a poorer section of town where the Paraguay River often floods. There are 12 seniors who have done most of the work even though the whole school was involved in donating clothes, canned foods, etc. for the project. We will be presenting the final copy; the written project, pictures of the activities, and final evaluation to the Ministry of Education for a seal of approval!
Oh, yes, the kids take a rented bus there...I think you've been there, GramS.
Sounds like a wonderful service project; putting faith into action and helping those in need. That is wonderful. Thank you for showing us some pictures. Love, Lilly
This is really awesome--- praise God for this ministry! What a great way for the seniors to finish up their year at Adonai.
