Friends

Last month we went to Chaco, Argentina to visit some friends. They invited Oscar to a Youth Retreat. Argentina had a holiday weekend, but we didn't. I let the kids skip school on Monday. I can't believe I did that...we NEVER skip school. Anyway, we had a great weekend. Now, our kids are friends with our friends kids. Isn't that cool?

Gaby's baptism

Gaby along with four other friends, all kids who grew up in church, were baptized on Sunday. A couple and their daughter were also baptized. José had some problems with his health and the Lord healed him! He lives in front of Pastor Pedro's house and Pr. Pedro visited him often. The whole family talks about this new person in Christ! José's wife was raised in a Christian home, but as a young girl stopped going to church until now, when she saw the huge miracle in her husband and the change that the Lord made in his life.

Post 500!

Don’t Bet! I always tell my kids that!
Gaby did a bet with Junior…and lost!
He bet that if the White team won…he would shave his head. If the Green team won, Junior was to shave his head. So, the white team won school Olympics and Gaby had Oscar shave his head yesterday after school.
My advice…don’t bet!

SOCCER!!!!

Yesterday the kids started their soccer, handball, and volleyball games. There are about 15 schools involved. The High School boys' game was one of the kick-off games and Colegio Privado Adonai won 5-4. I got their just after the game. Gaby met me at the gate, scraped up -legs, knees and wrists - to tell me that he made 4 of the 5 goals! His huge scars were nothing compared to those glorious goals. One of the teachers filmed it. I'll have to get her video later.
Here's the team...and waiting time...

OUCH!

A strange thing happened today. I was ready to walk out the door at 6:00 am with the kids to take them to school and Gaby came out to the kitchen and said..."mom, do you have anything for a head ache?" I looked over at him and saw he had a bloody nose and he was holding his head. "What???" Then, he told me his story...
You know how teens kinda like new clothes, new hairstyles, new music and...muscles, right? Well, this kid from school loaned our kids an elastic-type contraption for your biceps. Things were going good until Gaby pulled a muscle in his back last week. Still convinced that this thing might work, he was pulling on it this morning while laying on his bed...with his foot and hand. After a strong pull, it slipped off his foot...his slipery sock, and the handle wacked his eye/nose area so very hard that it almost knocked HIM out.
(He is demonstrating in the pictures.)
He has a good attitude about it because he even let me take pictures of it while he was explaining it all to us. He has a very bruised face, but recognizes the miracle that it didn't hit his eye.

P.S. He told me I could write this.
