Well, we are connected with lots of people, yes, school people. We hear about their pets, their families, their vacations, etc. etc. We hear about puppies, rabbits, hamsters, and...do you want one?, kind of stuff. Oscar grew up around hundreds of animals and I grew up around pesky, little dogs that we made my dad and my brother take care of. So, the idea of "do you want a puppy?" started on Wednesday. Nicole's mom wanted to sell us Bull Terrier. I said, "NO", "Sorry", "No way", "We have Edson", "I will NOT take care of an animal when I have THREE kids to take care of". The questions, answers and discussions were "ping-pong-ing" back and forth. The kids and Oscar with their "PLEASE" and me with my "NO".
Well, sad to say, I LOST! What can I do? I have a family full of boys and boys like dogs.
We have a young Bull Terrier named Sasha, and I can't believe I am letting this happen again!

Sorry about your distress! Maybe this will give the boys a chance to prove their maturity by taking care of the dog!
I'm so sorry. I'm thankful that I have been able to be the strong one so far with my "no"! It helps to have Fred on my side. :)
Awww, a cute little puppy! It'll be good...
I feel for you Karen. I gave the kids an choice once we had a puppy. Either the puppy in the house or me. They voted for the puppy! Yeah, I relented, too, and actually learned to love Garth (and Laddie), so much so that I cried when they died. Cried for the dog, and for my kids who were as broken hearted as I was. Enjoy Sasha, along with your family.
YAY I GET TO PLAY WITH A PUPPY THAT'S NOT A STRAY!!!!
Happiness is a dog's slobbery kiss.

What happened to Luna?

Yea, what happened to Luna?
Do I have to remind you what happened to all the puppies we ever had? I'm glad you don't live on a busy highway! Hope the boys and all your visitors will enjoy the dog!
AndI did stick with my "NO!" whenever your dad said we should get a cow.
Carole- you seriously crack me up! Didn't you see how well those cows did at your old place? You stuck to your NO over a cow?!! LOL- Thanks I needed a good laugh today.( Just out of curiousity- would you have caved in to a goat? And what about chickens? Why so you dislike farm animals so much?:))
No, Heidi, just the thought of the cow reminded me when we were kids and the neighbor's cow was always getting out and into our garden. Once she even "Mooo"-ed by our other neighbor's bathroom window and really scared her. Nope, no chasing cows for me.
Your Dad got us chickens once. Actually they were peeps at Easter time, and we did raise them till we made soup out of them.
Yeah, gramschley, you guys killed our pets for want of a meal! I'm glad that the Caballeros won't lose their pet like we did our fluffy little chickens! That was traumatic going into the basement and seeing what grampschley did to them! :)
My Dad killed the chicken? Really? I thought my mother was the Chicken killer- or at least that was Gary's
story. I'm so glad you got a dog, Karen- I'm learning so much family memories here!
