You may be wondering about my silence. Many times I have thought of writing in the past two weeks, but we are carrying a very heavy load. I have spent most of my days and nights taking my burdens to the Lord.
We are going through financial struggles at school. We are trying to rearrange contracts, salaries, etc. in order to make pay cuts, but still be legal. I know you all know about the economic crisis hitting hard everywhere. Most of the teachers have accepted the new policies admitting that Adonai is a very peaceful place to work at and that they haven't found this comfortable-teaching atmosphere in other private schools and NEVER in public schools. So, that has been encouraging, even though there is still a lot of stress on our part. We are depending on the Lord's strengths and riches to pass over this big mountain.
We also have financial cuts at home and felt that we needed to take the kids out of the american school they had been going to for 3 years. It has been stressful for them AND us. They seem relieved. We had been pressuring them, maybe too much. There was very little leisure time or time to just take a nap. We appreciate the cultural, and spiritual experiences that the kids had at ACA, but because of our finances and the distance of this school, we have decided to go a different route next year.
All this is complicating their schooling for next year since Paraguay schools have a different schooling schedule. We are finishing up the paperwork for their transfers. They are also taking final exams in the Paraguayan system to see what level they are in...in Spanish.
Sometimes I want to disappear and cry until it's all over and yet, I have to encourage my kids to keep on going. All the while I have to lend an encouraging word to the principal who is going through a family struggle, to a sister (in Christ) carrying the burden of a broken marriage, to a teacher dealing with an emotional load, to a mother whose child is very sick, etc. etc.
When you see I am silent for a while...say a prayer!
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD...Jeremiah 29:11-14a (NIV)

I love the comment at the end.
Yes, we'll continue to pray that things will be worked out to His honor and glory.
We'll pray for the adjustment for Brandon and Gaby as well as they leave the English atmosphere. I"m glad they had that experience.
Love you all.
I'm praying for all these situations and especially for you.
Thanks for sharing, Kar. I am glad that I can help carry your burden to the Lord in prayer!
You ended with one of my favorite passages! What comfort and encouragement we can get from the fact that God is willing, able and wants to help us all the time, not just when we think we need Him the most! All we have to do is acknowledge our need and accept His divine guidance and help. With God in control, we can't go wrong.
You're all in our prayers.
Here's a promise that is good to hold on to when it seems like disaster is all around:
"My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, though hail comes down on the forest, and the city is brought low in humiliation." Isaiah 32: 18,19. AMEN!
Love you and are praying for you!
