Brandon came home yesterday from a neighbor's house. They were playing soccer and had to be home by 6:00pm - little before dark. He came home saying, "Mom, don't worry about anything, I had an accident, but it's nothing." He lifted up his (long) hair and showed me an egg size bump, red (bluish at the base) and scratched.
He was goalie. He blocked the ball, it fell back onto the ground, his cousin (who is as big as he is) kicked at it again, but kicked Brandon's head instead of the ball. Ouch!!! He was knocked out for a couple of minutes They put ice on it and later he continued playing.
He thought it was a total adventure. I worried like a mother!

And I worry like a Grandma. How is he today? How did he sleep overnight? How's his memory? How's ..., how's... how's ...I sure hope he's OK today. I'll be praying for him today, especially that he'll be OK from the kick in the head.
And I think like a nurse. Check his pupils...are they equal and reacting to light? Sounds like he has some Pavkov in him. "No pain, no gain". Remember all the times grandpa just got up from a fall/accident and kept working? He never had time to worry about if it hurt or not! Yes, you worry just like a mom. That's your job. Love you all
According to the other players, I just found out today...he was out for a couple of minutes, then jumped up, said "I'm fine" and keeps blocking the goals! I'll see how his memory is when he has his next test!
And you have just voiced my greatest fear!! I don't like hearing stories like this because I know there will be situations like this in our family, too. Glad to hear he's ok!
