Grandpa

For some reason, being so far away, when I hear about someone dying, it just doesn't seem real. It seems as if next time I go to the states, he/she will be there to greet me and spend some time together. The memories live on...so...the people must! Memories of Grandpa and Grandma seem as fresh to me as yesterday. I have a picture of them and Aunt Janet on the refrigerator at home. I know they are no longer with us, but the happy moments I spent with them are the happy memories that make them alive in my heart. I am thankful for the beautiful examples they gave me. When he was in Paraguay he told everyone that I was the eighth generation in his family who was a believer. We can be just as proud of being God's children as he was. I am thankful that he could visit us so many times (once with Uncle Al, once with Dean Yovichin, once with George Bodjanac, and once with the Marang's). He was always so supportive of Paraguay Missions. We will miss his funny stories! By the way...sisters...I never remember the knuckle finger getting me!

I know what you mean about the memories being so fresh and the "news" so unreal. After the funeral yesterday, we were waiting for Mom and Dad to get back to the house w/Liz and Laurel and I *almost* suggested that we run up to Grandpa's for a quick visit before they got back!! So many years of habits are hard to break.

(I don't believe you about not remembering the knuckle finger getting you! It probably knocked the memory right out! :)

You must take after your Mom! You have completely blinded grandpa's eyes to your antics! Ask your mom about Grandma's check list and how many + points she had verses the number of + points A. Janet had, and the huge amopunt of minus points I had. I really think I was too dumb to know when I was set up to something so others would look innocent. By the way, I could never count the number of clunks I got from the knuckle finger> Love you. A. Peg

Karen, I love that picture of Edson trying to reach Grandpa's cane. It looks like they're both having a converstion about it. Edson's look at Grandpa is so inquisitive. How precious!
